Public transport
In Belfort, The Optymo network includes 7 urban and 18 suburban bus lines running daily from around 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM. A single ride costs €1, with a monthly fare cap of €36. Tickets can be purchased via SMS (send “BUS” to the “93090” phone number) or the Nord Franche‑Comté Mobilités app, which also offers 2-hour integrated tickets valid across Belfort, Montbéliard, and Héricourt. With the Optymo Pass, you also get access to 250 shared bikes (30 stations) and around 75 shared cars.
In Montbéliard, the ÉvolitY network serves the city and 73 surrounding towns. It includes 4 high-frequency lines (every 8–15 minutes) and 11 regular lines, operating daily from around 6 AM to 9:30 PM. It also offers on-demand services, evening shuttles, and access to bike and car sharing. Tickets and real-time info are available via QR codes, Nord Franche‑Comté Mobilités app and Evolity App. Line D connects Montbéliard to Belfort TGV station.
The trip duration between both cities is approximatively 25 minutes.
Carpooling
The apps “Karos” and “Blablacar” offers you solutions of carpooling. When linked to Optymo, a trip with Karos between Belfort and Montbéliard only costs you 1€. Carpooling is a good and cheap solution for traveling between both cities. It takes approximatively 20 minutes.
Train
TER trains connect local stations, including access to the Belfort–Montbéliard TGV station. The duration of the trip by train between both cities is approximatively 15 minutes.
